Students across the United States who were English Language Learners significantly improved language comprehension, a skill critical for becoming a strong reader.
This nationwide sample of at-risk students who were English Language Learners significantly improved language comprehension, a skill critical for becoming a strong reader. The group's performance moved from below average to well within the average range after using the Fast ForWord Language product, showing significantly greater gains than those of the comparison group.
Methodology
Participants comprised at-risk students who were English Language Learners from schools nationwide. Students were randomly assigned to either use Fast ForWord Language or to be in a comparison group. Both groups were measured at the start and the end of the study with the Test of Auditory Comprehension of Language (TACL), a standardized, nationally normed language test.
Measures
TACL: The Test of Auditory Comprehension of Language measures ability to understand spoken language and comprehend grammar.
