FastForWordin Schools

The implementation of Fast ForWord in schools is a cost effective means of enabling large numbers of students to access the programme. The success of Sonic Learning’s 2006 WA School Trials and positive feedback from educators and parents clearly demonstrates the value of Fast ForWord in schools.

Fast ForWord can be installed on as few as three computers (PCs or laptops) or up to 60, depending on the licensing arrangement chosen. Fast ForWord is installed on dedicated computer workstations and students share the use of these resources to play the games. Results are uploaded via the Internet to Sonic Learning for monitoring by our team of health professionals.

Each student uses the exercises for 50 minutes per day, 5 days per week, for one school term, and it is this intensity of training that results in significant improvements in memory, attention, auditory processing, reading, and various related skills. On a daily basis, each student’s results are uploaded via the Internet so our Fast ForWord team can monitor their results and progress.

In addition, the school has access to an online Progress Tracker tool which provides student progress information and can generate reports as required for each student. Schools also have the option of purchasing the Reading Progress Indicator tool which provides valuable pre and post measurement data in the areas of phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary and comprehension.

When Fast ForWord is offered in schools it represents a substantial discount on the cost per student. Our tream can customise a licensing arrangement to your schools needs and resources. Schools fund the programme in a variety of ways, including:

  • Direct funding by the school (from school budget).
  • Split between school funding and parent contributions.
  • Full funding by parents.
  • Funds raised by fetes or P&C activities.
  • State or Federal government grants (for literacy, behaviour modification and/or technology).
  • Business grants/sponsorship.

Parents, teachers and principals have given extremely positive feedback on the benefits their children and students have experienced by using Fast ForWord at school. Fast ForWord has been implemented in a number of metropolitan and regional primary and high schools nationally including:
Amaroo School, Augusta Primary School, Canning Vale College, Challis ECEC and Primary School, Comet Bay College and Primary School, Dampier Primary School, Kinross Primary School, Mindarie Senior College, Parkerville Primary School, Riverlands School, Samson Primary School, St John’s Primary School, St Luke’s Primary School, Wubin Remote Community School.
